Non Invasive Stem Cell Lift and Stem Cell Facial Rejuvenation
The Beverly Hills Face lift Institute: Non-invasive stem cell lift and stem cell facial rejuvenation
Stem cell face lift has become a buzz word and a marketing gimmick. It is very hard for patients to discern fact from fiction and to understand where the science ends and the myth begins. Never the less, it is important to take an honest approach and try to interpret the current knowledge in the field of regenerative plastic surgery.
Adult stem and regenerative cells are present in the fat. This is a fact. Fat grafting has been around for the last 20 years and it is a fact that by injecting fat we are injecting stem cells.
Some plastic and cosmetic surgeons will lead you believe that they are doing something new by calling their procedure a stem cell face lift. The implication is that they are extracting stem cells from fat but they are intentionally vague when describing the method of extraction or whether they are extracting stem cells at all. The whole thing can be very misleading.
There are sophisticated ways to extract stem cells and regenerative cells from fat. The best way is called the Celution system. Celution is a closed system that uses an enzyme called collagenase to break down the fat cells and concentrate both the stem and regenerative cells. The cells are then mixed back with the fat and re-injected into the face through small incisions together with multiple tunneling. The theory behind this procedure is that the regenerative cells are going to improve the blood supply of the skin by creating new blood vessels (angiogenesis).
Another system used to treat fat is called Puregraft. This system does not break the fat cell and concentrate the stem cell but it does purify the fat so once it is injected, it will last longer.
The Beverly Hills Face lift Institute has been on the fore front of both technologies using the Celution system in Europe and the pure graft system in the U.S.
Some of the indications for non-invasive facial rejuvenation are to address aging related volume loss, skin texture issues such sun damage, hyperpigmentation and dark spots, very fine lines, and damage to the skin from smoking, etc.
There is no cutting involved in the procedure and there is no visible external scarring so the downtime is shorter than traditional face lift.
It is also ideal for patients who have had facelifts and need to correct issues like the wind sweep look, hollowness and dents created by the face lift surgery itself.
